NEEPCO’s dam has again released water into the Ranganadi River. Due to heavy incessant rains in Arunachal Pradesh, the Ranganadi Dam’s reservoir has swelled with water which reportedly compelled NEEPCO to release the excessive water.
As per reports, the main gate and gate no.5 have been released from 1 am onwards on Thursday and at 10:45 am NEEPCO released 202 cubic meters per second water in gap of 1500 mm while 175 cubic meters per second water were released at 10:30 am.
Reportedly, Lower Subansiri District of Arunachal Pradesh has experienced 400 mm rain within 24 hours.
It is being feared that subsequently, more amount of water will be released from the dam. This move of NEEPCO has created a sense of panic among the people living on the riverside.
