New ISIS chief killed

Slain ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s “number one replacement” has been shot dead. US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said that the person, who was likely to replace Islamic State’s slain chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has also been killed. The US President, however, did not identify the person.

“Just confirmed that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s number one replacement has been terminated by American troops. Most likely would have taken the top spot – Now he is also Dead!” tweeted Trump.

After al-Baghdadi’s death, Abdullah Qardash, also known as Hajji Abdullah al-Afari, was reportedly appointed the new leader of the terrorist organisation. It has not been made clear if Trump was referring to Abdullah Qardash in his tweet.

It may be mentioned here that earlier, President Trump shared the picture of the dog, which was part of the US operation that resulted in the death of al-Baghdadi.
