Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences, Guwahati strives to maintain a workplace environment that is well functioning and to maintain highest standards of conduct and decorum.
Prof.Dr Dipika Deka, the new Vice Chancellor of SSUHS, introduces a circular which finds a mention of a dress code for the faculty, officers and staff. The order stated that as the faculty, officials and staff have to deal with medical colleges students, and therefore they have to maintain the dresses should also dress in a decent manner in the university premises.
SSUHS which is located in Gauhati Medical College Building at Narakasur Hill Top, Bhangagarh, Guwahati-32."Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences" is a full-fledged Government University of Assam. All medical Colleges of Assam including "Assam Medical College", "Gauhati Medical College" and "Silchar Medical College" are running their courses under this University only. In one line, the entire medical education (99%) of our state (Assam) is now running under this University only.
According to the circular there are certain exemptions in implementation which are as follows:
Any faculty or staff who fails to comply with this rule, they will have to undergo disciplinary action.
