Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Wednesday issued new guidelines for Unlock 3 which will come into effect from August 1 in order to open up more activities in the areas outside the Containment Zones. The new guidelines, issued today, are based on feedback received from States and UTs, and extensive consultations held with related Central Ministries and Departments, the Home Affairs ministry stated.

The first batch of five Rafale fighter jets has landed at the Ambala airbase after covering a distance of nearly 7,000 km to join the Indian Air Force fleet. The Health & Family Welfare Department, Assam has reduced the quarantine period to 10 days from 14 days if one returned from outside the state. In a notification issued by the health department, it said that the quarantine period has been reduced to 10 days inclusive of days spent in institutional/hotel quarantine as well as home quarantine. The notification further stated that if a passenger spends initial 2 days in hotel quarantine, then they should spend the rest 8 days in home quarantine. Similarly, if a passenger directly heads to home quarantine then they should spend 10 days at home.
