01. EIA Violates Sole Principle of 1986 EPA: Balipara Foundation

Balipara Foundation said that the draft Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) leads to the violation of the sole motive and basic principle of the 1986 Environment Protection Act. EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) is an important process to evaluate the environmental impact of a proposed project.

03. Tinsukia: No Fire Occur At Baghjan Oil Well, Clarifies Dist Admin

The Tinsukia district administration clarified that the fire at Baghjan Oil Well which has been reported to have spread to some neighbouring farmlands and has created panic and havoc in the region is completely false. The District Administration hereby clarified that the fire has occurred in farmland near the Maguri Matapung Beel, approximately 1.5 to 2 kms away from the said Baghjan Oil Well, under Baghjan Police Station and was lit to clear the farmland from bushes as reported.

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa tweeted late Sunday night that he had tested positive for the novel coronavirus. 77-year-old Yediyurappa said that he was fine but had been hospitalised on the advice of doctors.

05. New Ayodhya Railway Station To Be Completed In 2021

Phase 1 of new Ayodhya railway station, modelled on Ram temple, to be completed by June 2021, Northern Railway general manager informed. Sanctioned in 2017-2018, new Ayodhya station will be constructed at cost of around Rs 104 crore.

The Indian Health Ministry has issued fresh guidelines for arriving international passengers which will be operational from August 8. The guidelines state that before planning to travel, all travelers should submit a self-declaration form on the online portal – newdelhiairport.in at least 72 hours before the scheduled travel.
