01. Kamrup (M) Reports 14% Of COVID-19 Deaths, Higher Than Natl Avg

Kamrup (M) is among the 13 districts in India concentrated in 8 states and Union Territories which has reported 9% of the country's active COVID-19 cases and 14% of fatality which is higher than the national Case Fatality Rate (CFR), according to Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The health ministry report said that the national CFR is 2.04%.

02. Brazil Surpasses 1 Lakh Coronavirus Deaths

Brazil on Saturday surpassed 100,000 coronavirus deaths and three million cases of infection, according to the latest tally from the Ministry of Health. With 100,477 fatalities and 3,012,412 confirmed cases, the country of 212 million people is the second hardest-hit country in the global pandemic.

03.  India: 196 Doctors On Duty Died To COVID-19 So Far

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Saturday said 196 doctors in the country have succumbed to coronavirus so far. In an official statement IMA said, "The nation has lost 196 doctors out of which 170 of them are above the age of 50 years, with general practitioners attributing 40 percent of it".

04.  Vande Bharat Mission Will Continue

Vande Bharat Mission, under which Indians stranded abroad due to conditions created by COVID-19 are brought back home, will continue, Civil Aviation Ministry said on Saturday, a day after an Air India Express flight from Dubai crashed at Kozhikode airport resulting in the death of 18 persons.

05. Union Minister Arjun Meghwal Tests COVID-19+

Union Minister of Water ResourcesArjun Ram Meghwal has tested positive for COVID-19 and is admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi on Saturday. Meghwal was in news a few days ago when he launched 'Bhabhi Ji papad', claiming that the food item will help drive away from the novel coronavirus.

06. Union Minister Kailash Chaudhary Tests COVID-19+

Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Chaudhary has tested positive for COVID-19, he said in a tweet on Saturday. He is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

07.  Abhishek Bachchan Tests Negative for COVID-19

Actor Abhishek Bachchan on Saturday said that he has tested negative for COVID-19. Abhishek and his father, megastar Amitabh Bachchan were admitted to Nanavati hospital after they tested positive for COVID-19 on July 11.

08. 27 Dead In Kerala Due To Landslides

The number of deaths in the massive landslide that destroyed a row of 20 houses of tea estate workers in the high range Idukki district of Kerala on Saturday climbed to 27 with 11 more bodies being recovered from the debris, as efforts were on amid continuing rains to locate those missing.

09. Metro Services In J&K Likely By 2024

The light transit metro train service in Srinagar and Jammu is expected to be functional by 2024, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said. The metro project for the two cities would cost around ₹ 10,599 crore.

10. Maharashtra Crosses 5 Lakh Coronavirus Cases

Maharashtra's coronavirus cases crossed the 5-lakh mark with a record single-day spike in cases. With 12,822 new infections, the total tally in the worst affected state in the country is now 5,03,084. The total death count in the state is now 17,367 with the addition of 275 new fatalities in the last 24 hours.

15. Investigators Find Black Box Of Crashed Air India Express

The black box of an Air India Express jet that overshot the tabletop runway of the Calicut International Airport while arriving from Dubai, nosedived and split into two was recovered on Saturday, even as authorities launched an investigation into the worst air disaster in India in a decade that has claimed 18 lives.
