01. Kamrup (M) Reports 14% Of COVID-19 Deaths, Higher Than Natl Avg
Kamrup (M) is among the 13 districts in India concentrated in 8 states and Union Territories which has reported 9% of the country’s active COVID-19 cases and 14% of fatality which is higher than the national Case Fatality Rate (CFR), according to Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The health ministry report said that the national CFR is 2.04%.
02. Brazil Surpasses 1 Lakh Coronavirus Deaths
Brazil on Saturday surpassed 100,000 coronavirus deaths and three million cases of infection, according to the latest tally from the Ministry of Health. With 100,477 fatalities and 3,012,412 confirmed cases, the country of 212 million people is the second hardest-hit country in the global pandemic.
03. India: 196 Doctors On Duty Died To COVID-19 So Far
The Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Saturday said 196 doctors in the country have succumbed to coronavirus so far. In an official statement IMA said, “The nation has lost 196 doctors out of which 170 of them are above the age of 50 years, with general practitioners attributing 40 percent of it”.
04. Vande Bharat Mission Will Continue
Vande Bharat Mission, under which Indians stranded abroad due to conditions created by COVID-19 are brought back home, will continue, Civil Aviation Ministry said on Saturday, a day after an Air India Express flight from Dubai crashed at Kozhikode airport resulting in the death of 18 persons.
