01 Covid-19: 726 Assam Police Personnel Tests Positive, 350 Recovered

Additional Director General of Assam (Law & Order) GP Singh took to Twitter on Thursday stating 726 Assam Police personnel have tested positive for coronavirus infection as of date out of which 350 have recovered. Singh added, "We've unfortunately lost one colleague till date. 778 Cops are under quarantine while 20 have rejoined duty".

02 Covid-19 Assam: Death Toll Climbs To 50

Assam has lost two lives to coronavirus (COVID-19) infection on Thursday, pushing the death tally to 50 in the state. According to the Death Audit Board, the state's death rate is at 0.24 percent.

03 Assam Completes 6 Lakh Covid-19 Tests: HBS

Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday informed that the state has completed 6 lakhs coronavirus infection testing as of date. Over 17000 per million population tests were conducted across Assam. The minister said Assam is behind Delhi, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh in per million per day testing

04 Akhil Gogoi Granted Bail Under 3 Cases 

The Gauhati High Court granted bail to Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) chief Akhil Gogoi under three cases registered in Chabua police station on Thursday. The peasant leader has been granted bail under case no 293/19, 296/19 and 307/19. A treason case was registered against him under UAPA Act.

08 North East India Connected By Sea Ports Of Bangladesh

Union minister of state for shipping (I/C) Mansukh Mandaviya on Thursday flagged off the first trial container ship from Kolkata to Agartala and Assam through Chattogram Port of Bangladesh. The ship has been launched under the Agreement on the use of Chattogram and Mongla Ports for the movement of India's transit cargo through Bangladesh.

09 Covid-19 Actual Caseload Stands At 3.3 Lakhs

As on date, the actual caseload of COVID-19 patients in the country is only 3,31,146, contributing to a little more than a third (34.18%) of total cases detected so far, stated the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

14 BSF Jawan Arrested For Killing Delhi Police Constable

A BSF jawan was arrested for killing a woman constable of the Delhi Police at her rented accommodation on the suspicion of her having an affair with someone else. The accused identified as Naresh, 27, was in a relationship with the woman. He is married and his family lives in Rajasthan's Alwar district, they said.

15 IPL 2020 To Take Place In UAE In September

The thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in September this year. IPL 2020 was scheduled to take place between March 29 and May 17 but the BCCI had to suspend the league due to the coronavirus pandemic.
