NFR to add coaches to many long-distance, local trains

The   Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decidedto increase  the capacity of manylong-distance as well as local trains on a permanent basis as part of effortsto provide more berths to passengers of the region.

Pranav Jyoti Sharma, chief public relations officer (CPRO)of NFR, said that all the additional coaches will be added permanently fromthis month itself.

One AC 3-tier coach will be added to the 55615/55616Guwahati-Silchar-Guwahati Fast Passenger, while three general second-classcoaches each will be added to the 55803/55804 passenger, the 55809/55810passenger and the 55817/55818 passenger trains running between New Bongaigaonand Guwahati.

Sharma said four general second-class coaches will be addedto the 55893/55894 passenger and the 55895/55896 passenger trains runningbetween Rangapara and Rangiya, as well as in the 55681/55682 passenger and the55683/55684 passenger trains running between Agartala and Garjee.

One general second-class coach will be added to the55679/55680 passenger train running between Agartala and Dharmanagar.

This has been done in view of greater demands of thepassengers.
