Assam singer Zubeen Garg on Sunday morning stated that he will not support the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) and will destroy the bill, if passed in the Parliament. Taking to social networking site Facebook, Zubeen shared a photo of his musical performance from the North East Festival in Delhi and captioned it, “Nooooo CAB .we wl destroy it”.
His Facebook post came after the Dibrugarh district administration cancelled a concert by him the town due to “security reasons”. The Dibrugarh administration sources said that the concert has been cancelled in view of protests against CAB.
It may be mentioned here that the singer has been vocal against the bill and has taken part in various protests against the bill. He has also criticised the BJP government in the State led by CM Sarbananda Sonowal. The popular singer, who had sung a campaign song for Assam BJP in the 2016 assembly election, has also announced not to sing for any political parties in near future.
