“No Decision Yet on Future” : Bhubaneswar
Senior Congress leader Bhubaneswar Kalita on Tuesday says he has not yet decided whether to remain as active politician in state politics following his resignation from the Congress party.
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Kalita expressed his dissatisfaction with the functioning of the Congress party.
“No Decision Yet on Future” : Kalita
“I was waiting till 6 pm (Monday), but not a single person from Congress frontal bodies hadn’t contacted me regarding my resignation proposal. Even some of the leaders from Assam Congress lashed out at me saying ‘Bhubaneswar Kalita is ‘opportunist’. That’s why, I took the decision as I feel that I have no importance in the party. I had been disrespected by the party” : said Kalita.
“My conscience does not allow me to be a part of such negative developments and still continue in the Congress Party” : Kalita added.
The Congress whip in Rajya Sabha, Bhubaneswar Kalita, has resigned over his party’s stand on the government’s move to revoke Article 370 and bifurcate Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories.
