No Himanta in Assam politics after 2021

Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said that he won't be active in the political arena of Assam  after the year 2021.

Himanta made the statement while addressing the felicitation program of the victorious Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) Panchayat Candidates at Sarusajai National Games stadium. Sarma appealed the BJP workers to support the Citizenship (Amendment)  Bill 2016 overtly and referred the implementation of the bill as the 'final battle of Panipat'.

He also said  that Sarbanada Sonowal is on the verge of becoming the 'Jatiya Mahanayak' in the coming times.

Emphasizing on the bill Himanta Biswa Sarma said if Clause 6 of Assam accord is implemented, the interest of the indigenous people would be safeguarded.

He also said, in Assam's political scenario there is no alternate to BJP. He said that the presence of BJP would decide the fate of Assam in the upcoming 20 years.

Speaking about the waving of black flags in Assam as a protest against the C'ship Bill, Himanta said that it has become a culture in Assam now. He also appealed the BJP workers to wave white flags at the same spots the next day.

It is to be mentioned that Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, state BJP president Ranjit Das, Mahendra Singh, BJP's Assam-in-charge was also present at the felicitation program.
