No Impact of Protests in BJP: Rameswar Teli

The newly appointed Minister of State for Food Processing IndustriesRameswar Teli today said that nothing has hampered the Bharatiya Janata Partyfrom winning the Lok Sabha election, 2019.

Addressing the media persons in Digboi, Teli said, "The protest of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader Akhil Gogoi has not affected BJP. The protests that have been carried out by the organizations against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill have not hampered BJP from winning the Lok Sabha polls and the people of Assam have once again proved that they have full faith in the Narendra Modi-led government in the Centre."

Teli also said that a discussion will be held with the Union PetroleumMinister for increasing the refining capacity of Digboi Refinery. He said thatthe first ever Digboi Refinery is running only with the refining capacity of0.65 million tonne of oil annually.

Rameshwar Teli hasdefeated Congress veteran Paban Singh Ghatowar by a record margin of 3,64,566votes in the Lok Sabha election. He has been a member of the tea-tribecommunity and was the only sitting BJP MP from Assam to have been re-nominatedby the party to contest in this election.
