No place for immigrants after 24 march 1971: Padma Hazarika

Amid Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) adamant about implementing the Citizenship (Amendment)Bill 2016,  Sootea constituency MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) Padma Hazarika has made a controversial remark on the Bill and said that the there is no place for immigrants in Assam after 24 March 1971.

The BJP MLA said that he wants deportation of the illegal foreigners wholeheartedly after 1971.

The former AGP leader also asserted that the interest of indigenous people of Assam must be safeguarded at any cost.

Calling himself an agitator, Hazarika said, 'I have martyrs blood, and I want the Assam Accord to be fulfilled".

Hazarika also slammed Gauhati High Courts Senior Advocate and president of All Cachar-Karimganj-Hailakandi Students' Association (ACKHSA), Pradip Dutta Roy for his provocative statements against the students of Assam regarding Citizenship Amendment Bill. He said that such remarks against the people of Assam won't be accepted and the BJP would take action against anyone uttering such remarks.

Hazarika also denounced Congress and said they have no right to talk about Assam Accord and the martyrs of Assam.
