"Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi has failed miserably to do proper action in violation of Constitution matter related to Assam. This was alleged by Assam Sanmilita Mahasangha(ASM), which is an umbrella organisation of several indigenous ethnic organisations.
In a written memorandum, ASM asked the President of India Ramnath Kovind, to intervene in the NRC process and direct the Justice Ranjan Gogoi's NRC monitoring bench and the Government to not publish the NRC on 31" August 2019.
"The wrong NRC will create chaos and misunderstanding among the people of Assam. Due to these, the Indigenous people will suffer a lot and become minority in their own land." : ASM emphasized,
"The division bench of the Supreme Court consisting of honorable Mr. Justice Ranjan Gogoi & Mr. Justice Rohinton F Nariman had issued order on 13 August, 2019, that "We make it clear that subject to orders as may be passed by the Constitution Bench in Writ Petition (Civil) No. 562 of 2012 and Writ Petition (Civil) No. 311 of 2015, national register of Citizens (NRC) will be updated". ASM said.
"We urged the above two judges bench several times that the NRC should not be published before the final verdict of five members Constitution Bench. As because 13 questions in W.P.(C) 562/2012, for deliberation by a five members Constitution bench, which included as to whether Section 6 (A) of the Citizenship Act among other violates the Article 5, 6, 14, 21, 29 & 355 of the Constitution by diluting the political rights of the citizens of Assam, is pending 4 years and 8 months. It is very disgusting that the above mention division bench rejected our appeal." : ASM
At the same time, this division bench have whimsically orders for NRC updating taking cutoff date on 25/03/1971 as against the base year 1951 applicable to whole of India, whereas the lesue (Base year Constitutions bench. : ASM mentioned in the memorandum.
Now, 31" August, 2019, the NRC will be published without the final Verdict of the Constitution bench, the NRC has no value as said by the above division bench on 13 August, 2019. : ASM added.

"As, you (President of India) are the protector of the Constitution and Judiciary, so, we cordially request you to called on the Chief Justice Mr. Ranjan Gogoi immediately to the Rastrapati Bhawan and direct him to apologies for the above mentioned wrong activities in the Supreme Court of India. May we appeal with kind gracious to rule and govern the bonafide citizen of India and Indigenous people of Indian soil so that they can enjoy equal rights, equal respect and equal justice for peace, unity and development of India." ASM added.
