NRC authority has extended the last date for online correction of names and other particulars with respect to the NRC update process. The process began from January 2 and will continue till February 28 – as per reports.
People can get the corrections applying online at NRC Seva Kendras as well as by visiting the NRC website. "This facility can be availed by visiting NRC Assam's website www.nrcassam.nic.in." the notice stated.
The Supreme Court has already fixed the deadline for publishing the final National Register of Citizens (NRC) for Assam to 31 July. It also refused to entertain a plea to extend the deadline to September.
