NRC is not up to the Mark: AIUDF

The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) said that they are 50 percent satisfied and 50 percent dissatisfied over NRC.

Addressing a press conference, General Secretary of AIUDF Aminul Islamsaid that the government has played politics over the foreigners issue and manyeven taken the benefit. He said that from Hiteswar Saikia to Prafulla KumarMahanta, all have talked about the foreigners issue but none has solved it.

Islam stated that many organizations including political parties werehopeful that the foreigners' problem will be solved through NRC but now the BJPand its sister organization opposing the NRC is shocking.

The AIUDF GS further claimed that the BJP has taken benefit by sayingthat there are 40 lakhs foreigners during the time of election and HimantaBiswa Sarma has played Hindu-Muslim politics. He said that it is not worth toplay politics with NRC and that if the genuine Indians have been left out ofNRC then there are ways to solve the problem as they will be able to claimobjections. He asked the people whose name has been excluded from the NRC notto panic.

Islam said that it is after 40 years that a figure has been publishedand therefore, they are happy adding that Assam Public Works or any otherorganizations should not take the credit and said that the NRC is the result ofthe decision of the Supreme Court.
