The DelhiPolice has arrested a man for snatching the handbag of Damyanti Ben Modi – the nieceof Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The accused has been identified as Nonu andthe police have recovered the belongings that were snatched from her.
According to reports, Damayanti Ben's purse contained cash of Rs. 50,000 and two mobile phones when she was alighting from an auto-rickshaw on Saturday.
"Icame to Delhi and reached Gujarati Samaj Bhavan on Saturday morning. I wasscheduled to take a flight for Gujarat in the evening. I was getting off theauto-rickshaw when the snatchers targeted me," Damayanti Ben said.
Later,based on her complaint, police registered a case and identified both thesnatchers from CCTV visuals.
It maybe mentioned here that the incident occurred only a few kilometres from theresidence of Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
