One succumbed to COVID-19 at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on early Thursday morning. The person identified as Dhiren Kalita was admitted to Nemcare Hospital and after he tested positive of the deadly virus, he was shifted to GMCH on Wednesday night but later died.
Kalita (52) belonged from Puthimari in Kamrup. He was admitted to the hospital after complaining of stomach pain on Monday.
The family members, however, alleged that the Nemcare Hospital authorities have paid negligence towards Kalita in providing the initial treatment.
