Over600 members of six different rebel groups of Assam will lay down their arms inGuwahati on Thursday. According to sources, the extremists from ULFA, NDFB,KLO, NLFB, NSLO and Adivasi Dragon Force will surrender at a function at GMCHAuditorium in Guwahati.
"Atotal of 644 rebel leaders and cadres would lay down their arms before thechief minister in Guwahati on Thursday. All of them have returned from variousplaces along with a huge amount of arms and ammunition and they will officiallysurrender the same on Thursday," Assam DGP Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta was quoted assaying by News agencies.
It maybe mentioned here that recently NDFB-S cadres, led by B Saoraigwra signedSuspension of Operations (SoO) Agreement with the Centre and state government.
