Pakistan’s heavy shelling kills three in family

Tensions amid India and Pakistan seem only escalating as there have been reports of heavy overnight shelling by Pakistani troops in Jammu and Kashmir’s Solatri village of bordering Poonch district along the Line of Control (LoC) killing three members of a family.

A woman and two children are the ones who have died during the incident and have been identified as Rubana Kosar, 24, and her son Fazan, 5, and nine-month-old daughter Shabnam..

People residing in Jhulas, Solatri Bhera have started migrating to safer places. Due to prevailing situation, all the educational institutions falling within five km area along the Line of Control in twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch will remain closed today.

It may be noted that Pakistan Army on the 8th consecutive day continued violating the ceasefire in border districts of Poonch and Rajouri by targeting Indian posts and civilian areas. Indian troops are giving effective and befitting reply to Pakistan’s indiscriminate firing and heavy shelling.
