ArunachalPradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu chaired a review meeting on finance,planning and investment (FP& I) department which focuses at strengtheningthe department and preparation of the Budget for the upcoming financial year.
CM Khandusaid that the department of FP&I is the main engine of the government andits efficiency is of utmost concern and priority. He said that the public hasgiven mandate to this government so that we come up to their expectations.
The ChiefMinister further stated that the recent Cabinet has decided that all schemesand projects must be proposed through proper procedure and reflected in Budgetadding that individually motivated projects which find itself through StateAnnual Development Agenda and State Infrastructure Development Fund Scheme hasbeen stopped. Khandu said that such steps will be enable for greatertransparency in the entire project implementation process and unnecessary harassmentto government employees and public leaders on account of individual schemeswill be minimized.
Khandu alsoreiterated that inclusion of new proposals must be discouraged at the revisedestimate stage and only the budgeted projects that require additional fundingmay be considered. The CM who has chaired the review meeting held on Saturdayat his office at Itanagar said that the department should focus on long-termperspective plan and accordingly it should plan the budget of the current year.
Talking aboutthe usage of funds, Khandu said that the department can fully utilize the fundallocated for projects so that no funds remain unused.
