People from across the State were seen supporting the ban on single-use plastic. People of Assam have accepted the move initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government in Centre.
Special cleanliness drives were organised across the State on Wednesday, in connection with the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and PM Modi’s vision of clean India and plastic-free environment. People from various sections of the society participated in the drives. Besides, urging citizens to eliminate the use of single-use plastic, the people were also seen suggesting the shopkeepers to provide eco-friendly bags to its customers.
