Pijush Hazarika’s action angers Fancy Bazaar traders

Condemning the Minister of State for Health Pijush Hazarika's threat warning to traders in Fancy Bazaar on Wednesday that has agitated the entire traders' community, Assam Pradesh Congress and President of Professionals Congress spokesperson Gaurav Somani has challenged Hazarika for an open debate discussing the role of Fancy Bazaar's businessmen during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

This afternoon, the minister visited Fancy Bazaar and threatened the traders on camera to get them arrested and be jailed.

In support of the traders, Gaurav Somani said, "The merchant of Fancybazaar is no less than the Corona warriors as they are maintaining the food chain even in this crisis, regardless of their lives," adding, "Instead of focusing on earning money, they're playing their moral and social responsibility at this time is an example of human values presented in a greater society".

Lashing at the government Somani further added, "In such an environment, a live show by the government warning the traders in the market through Facebook Live is condemnable and civilized society will never forgive it".

Somani accepted it is the responsibility of the traders to follow the guidelines given by the government inside the shops, "However, thousands of people come every day and in the midst of this, following the social distance issued by the government, it is not just a matter of businessmen's purview".

Criticising the government the Congressman said, "The government will have to bring the situation under control by the district administration in which the government has failed and is venting the anger of this failure on the businessmen".

Defending the traders for following the fair price set by the government on potatoes and onions with proper receipts, Somani questioned, "Why are the government and administration not able to control the prices of fresh vegetables including prices of potatoes and onions in the retail markets?"
