Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Kartarpur Corridor on November 8, tweeted Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Saturday.
The corridor, which connects Pakistan’s Sikh pilgrimage Kartarpur Sahib to Punjab’s Gurdaspur will facilitate the visa-free movement of Indian pilgrims who will just need a permit to visit the shrine.
Harsimrat on Saturday tweeted, “With the blessings of Guru Nanak Dev ji, Sikh Panth’s ardaas for Khule darshan deedar (free access) of Sri Kartarpur Sahib to finally become reality. On November 8th, history will be created with PM Narendra Modi ji inaugurating the Kartarpur Corridor.”
The Kartarpur Gurudwara is among the holiest sites for Sikhs. It is believed to be the final resting place of Guru Nanak.
Last month, Pakistan announced that the Kartarpur Corridor will be opened for Indian pilgrims on November 9.
