PM to take oath amid grand event today

After leading a 'tsunamo' with a massive victory at the General Elections, Narendra Modi is all set to take oath as the Prime Minister of India for the second term in the Rashtrapati Bhavan this evening.

President Ram Nath Kovind will administer the Oath of Office and Secrecy to him and other members of Union Council of Ministers at 7 PM

Congress President Rahul Gandhi, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will be present among others.

According to reports, with 8000 invited guests, the oath taking ceremony is going to be the biggest of its likes in Rashtrapati Bhawan's history.

Releasing an advisory, the Delhi Traffic Police has said that several roads in New Delhi District including Rajpath – from Vijay Chowk to Rashtrapati Bhawan and adjoining areas including North and South fountain, South Avenue, North Avenue, Dara-Shikoh Road and Church Road will be closed for movement of the public between 4 PM to 9 PM today and advised motorists and public to avoid them.

This morning, the PM visited Rajghat to pay homage to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Sadaiv Atal Samadhi to pay tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and National War Memorial to pay homage to the martyrs.
