The letter containing the poison Ricin that was sent to the White House originated in Canada, Canadian law enforcement has reportedly said.
A Hindustan Times report quoted a US official as saying that the letter was addressed to US President Donald Trump, and that it was intercepted “at a government facility that screens mail addressed to the White House and Trump.”
Meanwhile, USA and Canada are jointly investigating the matter that has stirred things up ahead of the US Presidential elections.
The report quoted a spokesperson for The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) as saying that “initial information suggests that the letter originated in Canada.”
The spokesperson for Bill Blair, Canada’s minister for public safety and emergency preparedness was also quoted as saying that both the countries were “working closely” on the matter after confirming that there were “concerning reports of packages containing ricin directed toward US federal government sites.”
