After several reports aired in Pratidin Time, Assam Water Resources Department has finally taken steps to complete the remaining schemes of embankments on a war footing.
Minister for Water Resources Keshab Mahanta directed his department to remain fully prepared to tackle the erosion and flood problems.
Mahanta asked the Water Resources Department to complete the remaining repairing works of embankments on a war footing. WRD special teams will take stock of flood management in various parts of the state.
The Minister directed the Water Resources Department to maintain the highest order of vigilance during the flood season to ensure safety in river embankments.
