Rahul Gandhi’s resignation as Congress president rejected

In a post-result drama, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) on Saturday rejected the resignation offered by its president Rahul Gandhi.

As per reports, the Congress President offered to resign as party president in the CWC meeting which is underway in Delhi, but it has been rejected by the decision-making body of the CWC.

Rahul reportedly offered to quit as the party president following Congress’ poor performance in the 17th Lok Sabha Elections. Notably, Rahul himself has lost the Gandhi family’s traditional Amethi seat to BJP’s Smriti Irani.
