The newly appointed Defence Minister of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 2.0 cabinet, Rajnath Singh today visited the National War Memorial to pay tribute to jawans who laid down their lives for the country post-independence.
Army Chief General Bipin Rawat, Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa and Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh were also present at the memorial to pay tribute to the jawans.
Rajnath Singh, who was the home minister in Modi’s first cabinet has given the charge of Defence Minister after taking oath on May 30 at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Singh will take over from his predecessor Nirmala Sitharaman who has been allotted the Finance Minister in Modi’s 2.0 Cabinet.
The War Memorial was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 24 this year which is located next to India Gate.
