Sending out a message of communal harmony, amid ongoing politics over religion, the residents of a Muslim village in Rangia has come out to perform the last rites of a Hindu man on Saturday. The incident took place in Khandikar village, where the villagers, mostly Muslims, called a priest to perform the last rites of one, Rajkumar Gaur, who died last night.
According to reports, Rajkumar along with his wife and children was living in the premises of one Saddam Hussain. He worked as a labour to earn his livelihood. Rajkumar died last night following illness.
Interestingly, the villagers have come out to perform the last rites of Rajkumar. They called a priest to perform the rituals as per the Hindu tradition.
“He was like a family member and we did what should be done for any member of a family,” said Saddam Hussain.
