Relief materials yet to reach home-quarantined persons

Amid the ongoing lockdown imposed in Halflong of Dima Hasao district of Assam, home-quarantined persons are yet to receive any relief materials from the concerned administration.

The matter gained prominence when some quarantine families informed Pratidin Time and thorough investigation led to the revelation of this crisis.

According to the Assam government's guidelines, each home quarantined family comprising four members over a period of 7-10 days should be getting relief materials or a sum of rupees 2000. However, on the contrary, several families have stated that they are unaware of such provisions, while some have not received any relief materials to date.

As of date, more than 1000 persons with travel history within the state boundaries of Assam has been kept under home quarantine and over 500 returnees from other states have been kept under institutional quarantine.

Meanwhile, two more new positive cases were detected from the institutional quarantine centre at Haflong. COVID-19 positive cases in Dima Hasao rose to 126, where 13 persons are being treated at Haflong Civil Hospital, while the rest were discharged after being tested negative.
