In a shocking incident a retired Army jawan was today shot dead by two miscreants at Nonoi in Nagaon district on Monday.
The Army jawan named Dwipen Nath died instantly on the spot.
According to reports, the two attackers broke into the retired jawan's house and fired multiple shots at him. The attackers fled the spot in their motorcycle before the family members and neighbor's came in for rescue.
Nath was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital but he was announced dead midway.
The shocking incident has sent a ripple of panic and sensation in the entire area.
Police is in search of the two miscreants who shot the jawan.
Earlier in October, a woman has been shot dead in Agyathuri near Guwahati. Two persons on a bike shot the woman, who was in a car.
