RSS Leader, ASSIDC VP Amal Baishya jailed for bank fraud

Daily wage labour's fake identity used

Senior RSS leader and Assam Small Scale Industrial Development Corporation(ASSIDC) Vice Chairman Amal Baishya was arrested and sent to jail for bank fraud to the tune of Rs 50 lakhs.

The Bureau of Investigation of Economic Offences(BIEO) had filed a case (No 120-B/420/406- 21/18) against Amal Basihya who had obtained Rs 50 lakh loan from the bank by giving false document using the identity of a daily wage labour Mantu Basihya in connivance with the Central Bank Manager Jadav Seel.

As not one rupee of the loan was returned, the Central Bank of India (CBI) regional management raised the alarm after serving several notices and found that loan was sanctioned and released through the fake identity of daily wage labour.

Sensing deep involvement of the biggies, the CBI filed a case with the BIEO who during the investigation found that main culprit is Amal Baishya, who is a senior functionary of the RSS.

Mr Basihya handles the media liaison and last year he was made Vice Chairman of the ASSIDC. Mr Baishya and Mr Seel colluded and created fake papers against the daily wage labour Mantu Basihya.

As the BIEO filed the charge sheet in the court, the Bank manager Jadav Seel surrendered while Amal Baishya was arrested from his Bonda home and sent to judicial custody.
