Days after the PM of Nepal, KP Sharma Oli accused India of trying to effect a regime change in Nepal in response to the country's decision to change its map, the PM finds himself in the eye of a storm with his party members demanding his resignation over his remark against India.

In the powerful standing committee meeting of the ruling party, that is to say, Nepal Communist Party, former PM of Nepal, Pushpa Kamal Dahal reportedly lambasted Oli for his acerbic remark against India. As per reports, he asserted that the remark was "neither politically correct, nor diplomatically appropriate." He also warned that such a statement may strain Nepal's relations with its neighbor.

A PTI report alluded that other top leaders of the party, including Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhalanath Khanal, Vice Chairman Bamdev Gautam and spokesperson Narayankaji Shrestha, have also expressed displeasure over the remark by asking Oli to prove his accusations and quit.

The rumblings of a rift within the party are only growing louder with time. Oli faced a similar demand of resignation in the month of April too.
