Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal reviewed the four-lane works of National Highways on his visit to Sonitpur district today. The CM has reviewed the work with NHIDCL and PWD officials.
Sonowal expressed dissatisfaction over the slow progress of four-lane works of National Highways in the district while taking the review. The Chief Minister urged GM of NHIDCL to take necessary measures to expedite construction works and initiate action against all non-performing contractors at the earliest. He also urged the GM to take necessary steps for carrying out maintenance works on the roads till the four-lane work is over.
The CM also instructed the Executive Engineer, PWD (NH), Nagaon Division to expedite the construction works on the NH from Tezpur to Kaliabor and take up necessary repairing on the stretch from Mission Chariali to Jamuguri.
The CM also take stock of the Tezpur Airport and after reviewing the air connectivity he said that he would discuss with authorities concerned to take appropriate steps to increase the number of regular flights to and fro from Tezpur and improve the air travel facilities for the people.
