Saudi Prince arrives to broker Indo-Pak peace

Saudi Crown prince Mohammed bin Salman arriving in India today for its maiden visit but the real purpose of his visit to deescalate the tension between India and Pakistan following the Pulwama attack.

This is his first visit to India and came at the backdrop of the widespread accusation in the Western Media that he was behind the brutal murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi's brutal killing at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.

Known as MBS, he is close to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and today when he will be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he is expected to broker peace between the feuding two nuclear neighbours.

This is noteworthy that Prince Salman is travelling to India from Pakistan where in a joint statement released in Islamabad on Monday evening said the Crown Prince and his minister "praised openness and efforts of (Pakistan's) Prime Minister Imran Khan for dialogue with India".

The comment comes days after the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama, in which 40 CRPF personnel lost their lives. Livid, India has stepped up its efforts to isolate Pakistan in terms of trade and in the international community.
