In yet another sensational incident in the city, a school teacher of Noonmati was detained on Tuesday for sexually assaulting a girl student.
Identified as Niladhar Kalita, the headmaster of Chunchali LP School at Noonmati in Guwahati was detained on the charge of sexually assaulting the student. Police have registered a case.
In their complaint to police, the girl's family alleged that the teacher "did indecent things" with her. The locals of the area demanded strict action against the teacher. Meanwhile, police have been investigating the matter and questioning the teacher regarding the incident.
