Amid speculations, Kapil Dev-led Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) on Friday confirmed that Ravi Shastri will continue as team India head coach. According to reports, Shastri has been reappointed for a two-year period, ending with the 2021 T20 World Cup in India.
“Ravi Shastri will continue as Indian Cricket Team’s Head Coach,” said the 1983 World Cup-winning captain during a press conference, adding, “We want to make sure the team should get benefitted. That’s what we wanted. The board also wants the same thing.”
Kapil Dev also informed that that Tom Moody came a close third and Mike Hesson finished second in the race. It may be mentioned here that five names – incumbent Ravi Shastri, Robin Singh, Lalchand Rajput, Mike Hesson and Tom Moody – were in contention for the high-profile position.
