Shatrughan Sinha’s Wife To Contest Against Rajnath Singh

Poonam Sinha, wife of actor-turned politician Shatrugan Sinha will be contesting against Union Minister Rajnath Singh from Lucknow parliamentary constituency on a Samajwadi Party (SP) ticket with Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP)'s support.

According to reliable sources, Poonam Sinha will contest on the Samajwadi Party (SP) ticket with the Bahujan Samaj Party's (BSP) support.

Soon after the development, former Cabinet minister and SP leader Ravidas Mehrotra confirmed the media – Sinha will be contesting against Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh from the Lucknow parliamentary constituency, adding that she will file her nomination on April 18 for the ensuing Lok Sabha polls 2019.

This would pave the way for a one-to-one face off between Rajnath Singh and Poonam Sinha.

The decision to field Poonam Sinha as the joint opposition candidate against Rajnath Singh is an attempt by the opposition parties to keep the Union Home Minister confined to his constituency.
