Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Thursday said that the government under Sarbananda Sonowal is the most corrupt government in Assam history. Alleging Chief Minister’s Office of being involved in corruption, Gogoi while addressing a press conference said, “There are corruptions under Sonowal government ranging from syndicates to electric transformers.”
The Ex-CM also asked why the government has failed to arrest the brother of Rakesh Paul in connection with the infamous APSC cash-for-job scam.
Gogoi also slammed Amit Shah over latter’s remark on NRC. “The statement made by Amit Shah in Kolkata on bringing the CAB first and then NRC is a clear proof that they are hell bent on destroying the Assamese language, culture and identity. Do not play with the people of North-East,” warned the senior Congress leader.
He also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his recent interview with Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. Taking a swipe at PM Modi, Gogoi said, “During this election season, PM is talking about mangoes and kurtas from Mamata Banerjee, which showed that he has failed as a politician.”
Gogoi reiterated his stand on CAB and said that Congress will continue to oppose the Bill.
