Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal reviewed the progress of the MOITRI scheme on Tuesday evening under which modernization of infrastructure in police stations are being taken place.
Sonowal also took stock of the different aspects of modernization of police stations in the state. Acting as the chairman of the meeting, Sonowal also directed Director General of Police (DGP) Kuladhar Saikia to oversee that the modernization work of 73 police stations is completed by the end of December this year.
The CM also directed the DGP to ask Superintendents of Police (SP) of each district to inspect the quality of work being taken under the MOITRI scheme. He also took stock of the progress of the preliminary works of the proposed Police Academy in the state.
