Amid the ongoing protests over Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 and ST status issue, a team from Assam BJP headed by CM Sarbananda Sonowal will meet Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today (January 12).
CM Sonowal will be accompanied by State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Tourism Minister Chandan Brahma and BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary
As per reports, the team will discuss with centre about the current situation of Assam as Assam Tribal Sangha raised its strong objection against the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2019 and Coordination Committee of the Tribal Organizations called Assam bandh on Friday. During the bandh, many clashes took place between existing STs and ST seekers in the State.
