The statue of St. DON BOSCO in front of Bishops House in Tezpur, Assam was vandalised and desecrated on last Saturday night by some unknown miscreants.
It may be recalled that a few years back the Saints' statue was desecrated in Guwahati too. This growing intolerance in the recent times has put the people of this land in anxiety.
It is shocking to note that such an incident has happened in Tezpur, which is considered to be the Cultural Capital of Assam being the birth place of iconic people like Bishnu Rabha, Jyotiprasad Agarwala and Phoni Sarma etc.
An FIR has been registered with the Police, hoping the culprits will be booked and faith and security of the Christian Community is restored, Allen Brooks, spokesperson of Assam Christian Forum informed.
