The syndicate of Burmese supari is increasing at an alarming rate. The Sadin-Pratidin group has published a series of news regarding supari syndicate in Baihata Chariali region.
Following the reports of supari syndicate, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has directed the Director General of Police (DGP) Kuladhar Saikia to investigate the matter. A Special Task Force (STF) will now investigate the supari syndicate in the region, informed DGP Saikia.
“The STF will investigate the illegal trading. Additional DGP of STF will investigate the matter,” said the DGP on Friday.
Earlier, instead of taking action against the supari syndicate racket, the Kamrup SP Parthasarathi Mahanta had attempted to threaten the Sadin-Pratidin group by slapping defamation cases amounting hundreds of crore for publishing and broadcasting the series of news.
