On Sunday evening a Kashmiri truck driver was killed after he was attacked with stones by protesters in south Kashmir‘s Anantnag district.
As per reports, the deceased has been identified as Noor Mohammed Dar, 42, resident of Zradipora Uranhall region who was returning home when protesters mistook his truck for a security force vehicle and hurled stones at it. The driver, hit on the head, was shifted to a hospital where doctors declared him dead.
According to police, protesters had been hurling stones at civilians too and earlier this month, injured an 11-year-old girl at downtown of Srinagar city. The Director-General of Police of Jammu & Kashmir, Dilbag Singh directed officials to apprehend the culprits and ensure that stern action is taken.
As news agency has reported, in connection with the death of a truck driver in Kashmir on Sunday, two youths were arrested in the early hours of Monday for allegedly throwing stones at the truck in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
