The accused of the murder of a daughter-in-law at Sualkuchi has been apprehended by Kamrup Police. The accused identified as Bidit Mahanta has been apprehended from Guwahati.
Policesuspected that the daughter-in-law has been killed as her husband was allegedlyhaving an extra-marital affair.
The family of the daughter-in-law has lodged an FIR against six-member of Bidit Mahanta's family.
It may be mentioned that the daughter-in-law Deepa Kalita's body was found hanging on Thursday. The Mahila Samiti of Sualkuchi alleged that it was her husband who has killed her as he was having an extra-marital affair.
The Mahila Samiti also staged a protest outside Mahanta's house raising slogans against them and demanded that he should be hanged to death.
Bidit Mahanta was absconding after the incident but the Kamrup police have successfully apprehended him from Guwahati and taken him under custody for interrogation.
