Microsoft's Excel app on Google play store has become the victim of the current row over the latest Holi advertisement of Surf Excel by Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL).
Interestingly, those offended by the recent ad have already taken to social media to demand the boycott of the Surf Excel brand and HUL. #BoycottSurfExcel and #BoycottHindustanUnilever have been trending on Twitter since last few days. Some of the netizens have now started giving negative review to Microsoft Excel App on Google play store.
There can be seen sudden surge of 1-star ratings of the Microsoft Excel App on Google play store. Some even went on to term Microsoft Excel as "anti-national".
Notably, this is not the first time a product has faced such an incident. Earlier, Snapdeal app has also become the victim of such online abusing when Snapchat CEO made offending comment on Indians.
