A man suspected to be cattle thief was beaten to death by a mob at Raishyabari in Dhalai district of Tripura. The victim was identified as Budhi Kumar Tripura.
According to a police officer ofRaishyabari police station, Budhi Kumar had entered a cattle shed of a localvillager late night on Tuesday and was spotted by some local people who raisedan alarm and caught him. The mob later thrashed him mercilessly.
Police later rescued the man from themob after receiving the information and rushed him to a local hospital where hedied on the next morning as he sustained major injuries.
The body was later sent forpost-mortem.
