The Annual General Meeting of the Indian Olympic Association held on 22.12.2018 had discussed on this issue and proposed: “If any National Sports Federation (NSF)/State Olympic Association (SOA) fails to hold their election and exceeds the term, then the Indian Olympic Association will form an Ad-Hoc Body and take interim measures for overseeing governance and managing affairs of that sport. If that NSF/SOA does not accept this provision it would cease to be the member of the IOA with immediate effect”.
