The Advertising Club Guwahati organized ‘SPEAKER SERIES’


The Advertising Club of Guwahati on 10th April 2019, Wednesday organized a special programme titled ‘SPEAKER SERIES’ with an aim to invite emerging stories, campaign creators, industry professionals, from Advertising and Media fraternity to Guwahati for an interactive session with Ad Club members and their guests. The event took place in Hotel Kiranshree Portico. Malavika R Harita, Pratik Gupta and  Shubhrastha Shikha  were amongst the speakers of ‘SPEAKER SERIES’. In addition to the speaker many distinguished guest were present at the event. Topcem Cement President Anil Kapoor, Saurav Agarwal of Dyna Roof, Bikash Jain from Potential & Concept Education, Sunil Ghosh, the owner of Annapurna also graced the function.

Malavika R Harita, who is passionate about the power of communication, teaching, mentoring start-ups and empowering women, storytelling and digital marketing was the first speaker of the day. She was felicitated by the President of Advertising Club forum of Guwahati. She delivered her talk which involved the audience to a great extend. Her talk centered round Digital Adverting, certain myths relating to advertising. She emphasized that advertising should aim in bringing holistic relationship between product and audience. She also added that brand communication should be kept simple rather than being complex for the easy access of the audience. She also urged the advertisers to build circle of influence.

Shubhrastha Shikha was the second speaker of the day. Shubhrastha Shikha is a Indian Political Strategist, Author, Freelance writer/Contributor and TV Columnist/Debator. Rishi Baruah from Advertising Club Guwahati felicitated her. Shubhrastha Shikha during her speech emphasized on Election Campaigning via Digital Platform and advertising. She explained why politicians need to market themselves. She also added that after the Election Commission’s model code of conduct, parties and leaders has stopped advertising prior to election. She also talked about Cartoon campaigning in Assam “Baad Diya Hain”. During her speech she claimed herself to be Assam’s daughter.

Pratik Gupta the Co-founder of FoxyMoron (a leading digital marketing and media solutions agency) was also felicitated by the president of Advertising Club Guwahati. His inspiring and motivational talk grabbed the audience. His talk concentrated on what advertising is and will be in near future. He explained that digital marketing is not social media marketing only rather said digital marketing is a medium which has no barrier to entry. He described a tree wherein he mentioned the roots to be the data, stem as the technology, trunk to be the media, and content to be the leaves and the fruit of the whole tree. He mentioned about the strategies of advertising.

The event ended with a vote of thanks speech by Rishi Baruah. The event was a successful output as mentioned by, Anil Kapoor, the president of Topcem Cement
